All About the Quarterback

Cody Morgan, quarterback of the rebel football team, is very dedicated to his team and teammates.

According to Cody, being quarterback is no different or any more important than any other position. "We just lead by example and stay positive," says Cody.

During the Delhi vs. North Caddo game, Cody injured his hand. It was the second quarter and the play was at the ten yard line. The running back from Delhi, Christian Colvin, was charging toward Cody and the buckle on his helmet cut his hand.

Cody continued to play, not missing but a single play of the game.  At half time, the coaches wrapped his hand and he entered the third quarter just as strong as before.

He is also starting to adjust to the new coach. Cody says, "Since I've played at North Caddo, I've had three coaches. It is kind of hard to warm up to one when he leaves soon after starting."

Cody goes on to say that he is very impressed with the work that Coach Dupree is doing. "He's definitely turning the program around. We weren't disciplined at all and he's whipping us into shape, for sure."

Coach Dupree also seems to be very impressed with Cody.  "I like to use Cody as an example. He's a senior, he's been in live game situations, he's been through trenches. After his injury during the Delhi game, he showed up to practice on Monday, ready. He has a desire to win and to play no matter what." Coach Dupree says.

Cody is enjoying his final season of high school and making the best of it.
