Last Friday night the Plain Dealing Lions and Benton Tigers renewed an old rivalry to determine who would be Kings of the jungle. This was certainly a game you didn't want to miss, and there wasn't an empty seat in the house.
In the first quarter, the Lions took a chance on fourth and inches and couldn't convert; the Tigers capitalized with a 25-yard touchdown. The Lions quickly answered with an 18-yard pass from Logan Allen to Isaac Jacobs. Although the Lions had 3 chances to get the 2-pt conversion due to pass interference, they were not able to punch it in and the score remained 7-6.
For the rest of the game, the Tigers and the Lions both stepped up on defense and while both teams had some chances, the score did not change anymore. Both teams earned the others respect and all fans left proud of their respective teams.
The Lions will suit up Friday night at 7 against Logansport.
