North Caddo Alumni Comes Home

Haylie Meadows reporting on the North Caddo High School for JAWS.
North Caddo is happily welcoming Coach Chuck Dupree back home to his alma mater as the head football coach.  We are all very excited to have him, especially our Rebel football players.

“I think he’s a great coach.  His coaching style, from what I can see so far, is very disciplinary.  I think he’s going to affect the team very positively, and in due time, we’ll have a winning team,” senior, Dylan Bradley who plays center and defensive end, says.

Coach Dupree attended North Caddo from 1976 – 1980.  He played football all four years he attended.  They won district champions in the 1977 season.  They were known as the “Tough Bunch.”  Dupree explains that the “Tough Bunch” was “not a bunch of athletes, just a bunch of overachievers.”
Dupree has coached at several high schools in Louisiana, including Plain Dealing Academy, Lafayette High School, and Pine Ville High School.  He was head coach at Airline High School, Comeaux High School, Northwood High School, and now North Caddo.

“I expect to win!  I expect the boys to think the same thing.  They’re a good group of kids,” Dupree says.
He plans to build the program to where students want to come.  He’s going to talk to Jr. High students and encourage them to come, also.

“It’s home. It’s my alma mater. My family is here.  Also, so I can have an influence on young men’s lives while they are here to become productive citizens though their lives.  We are going to win some football games along the way, too.  It’s a dream come true to have this opportunity,” Dupree replies after being asked why he wants to coach at North Caddo.

We know that Coach Dupree will do magnificent things here at North Caddo, not only for the football team, but for the whole school and the community.
